New Delhi: In a proactive move to bolster security along the India-Bangladesh border, the Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified its efforts by engaging with border villages. The force has initiated a series of “village coordination meetings” aimed at fostering a strong partnership with local communities and enhancing border security.
Recognizing the crucial role of local residents in maintaining border integrity, the BSF has been holding these meetings with Panchayat Pradhans, Panchayat members, and villagers in border areas. The discussions primarily focus on the current situation in Bangladesh, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and cooperation to prevent illegal activities such as infiltration, smuggling, and cross-border crimes.
BSF officials have been educating villagers about the potential security threats and the importance of reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities. The force has also stressed the implementation of Section 144 of the CrPC during night hours along the international border to deter anti-social elements.
By strengthening its relationship with border communities, the BSF aims to create a robust security network that can effectively address emerging challenges. The force believes that the active participation of local residents can significantly contribute to maintaining peace and stability along the border.
As part of its comprehensive border management strategy, the BSF is also enhancing its technological capabilities and deploying additional troops to strengthen security measures.
