Omar Abdullah Visits Flood-Affected Villages in Handwara

Handwara, April 30 – Omar Abdullah, the Vice President of the National Conference (NC) and candidate for the Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, embarked on a visit to the flood-affected villages in Handwara. Accompanied by prominent NC leaders including Nasir Sogami, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Javid Dar, and Kaiser Jamsheed, Abdullah aimed to assess the damage caused by the recent floods and extend support to the affected residents.

The delegation led by Omar Abdullah arrived in Handwara to survey the aftermath of the floods and interact with the affected villagers to understand their needs and challenges. Handwara, like many other areas in Jammu & Kashmir, has been grappling with the consequences of heavy rainfall and flash floods, leading to widespread devastation and displacement.

During the visit, Omar Abdullah expressed solidarity with the flood-affected communities and assured them of the National Conference’s unwavering support in their time of need. He listened to the grievances of the villagers and promised to highlight their concerns at the appropriate forums to ensure timely assistance and relief measures.

Accompanied by his party colleagues, Abdullah inspected the damaged infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and residential properties, to assess the extent of the destruction caused by the floods. He emphasized the importance of swift action and coordination between government agencies to expedite the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the affected areas.
